Highlights from today's birding in Starr & Zapata counties included:
Muscovy Duck - ad with juv on river at Salineno
Anhinga - 6 E over river at Salineno
Red-billed Pigeon - flock of 9 N over river at Salineno about 8:40am
Groove-billed Ani - by river at Salineno
Green Kingfisher - 2 on river at Salineno
Ringed Kingfisher - 2 on river at Salineno
Vermilion Flycatcher - ad male at San Ygnacio
Yellow-breasted Chat - at least 3 singing at San Ygnacio (do they nest
here?!)
White-collared Seedeater - pair + singing ad male at San Ygnacio
Painted Bunting - ad male at San Ygnacio &
Orchard Oriole - 2 at Salineno (presumably early migrants).
