This morning's bird walk was well attended and in addition to the chamber of
commerce weather the group was treated to 49 species of birds. Some of the
highlights were a very cooperative immature Red-shouldered Hawk near the nature
center, an adult male Rufous Hummingbird that has spent the winter with us, 2
Blue-headed Vireos, 2 Brown Creepers, 4 Golden-crowned Kinglets, 13 Eastern
Bluebirds, a plethora of Pine Warblers including several bright yellow males,
several Pine Siskins and 10 Scaly-breasted Munias.
The walks are every Wednesday morning from 8:30 - 11 AM. They are free and all
ages are welcome. No need to RSVP, just show up. Me meet on the steps of the
nature center.
