A couple of other things to consider before storm birding.

Isaac is very large and it will result in a surge 30% greater than a normal hurricane. In other words an Ike like surge.

Louisiana has started evacuating coastal areas and declared states of emergency west to the Atchafalaya so there will be some road traffic heading inland and Texas is a place to get out of town to. One of the key spaghetti lines now has landfall at Sabine and continuing inland to the northwest. The big evacuation jam I was stuck in was a day before anyone was told to get out. Some of the oil companies are evacuating rigs off the UTC and they will be closed down by tomorrow.

But document birding if it is safe.
