Good morning Texbirders,
Sheldon Lake State Park & Environmental Learning Center is hosting several
birding activities this fall-please let me know if you are interested in
joining in!
Hawk Watch-Join us in collecting valuable data on hawk populations as they
migrate over the park. From atop the John Jacob Observation Tower, we are able
to watch as hundreds of hawks make their way south. There will be a training
THIS SATURDAY, August 26th from 9:00am-11:00am. The training is free, open to
all, and we do not require a commitment to volunteer with the program.
Sheldon Lake SP Birding League-We will be hosting our second annual Birding
League from September 23rd-October 23rd, with an information session on
Saturday, September 16th. This fun, free, and friendly competition for teams
of 2-5 participants to see how many birds they can spot within the park
boundaries in a month. This is an excellent opportunity to meet other birders,
have a good time, participate in some special events, and show off your birding
prowess. Registration is due Friday, September 15th!!
Please let me know if you have any questions for either of these events or
would like to register!
Happy Birding,
Hannah Buschert
