Greetings All:
I spent a good chunk of the morning and most of the afternoon along the
Canyon Lakes of Lubbock.

I spent 45 minutes at Lake Six, picking up 25 species including 2 Eared
Grebes and 1 Snowy Egret.

I spent 30 minutes below Lake Six, picking up 16 species including 1
immature Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, 1 Downy Woodpecker, 1 House Wren, and 2
Winter Wrens.

I spent 105 minutes at the Lubbock Cemetery, picking up 31 species
including 8 Snow Geese, 2 immature Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers, 1
White-breasted Nuthatch, 1 Golden-crowned Kinglet, 2 Western Bluebirds, 16
Cedar Waxwings, 2 Orange-crowned Warblers, 1 Field Sparrow, and 2 Pine
Siskins.

I picked up an incidental adult Yellow-bellied Sapsucker at Aztlan Park.

I spent 45 minutes at the Erskine Street Marsh, picking up 26 species
including 1 Osprey, 1 Sora, 1 immature Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, 1 immature
Red-naped Sapsucker (running late but not unprecedented - we have had them
on CBCs), 1 Eastern Phoebe, and 1 Orange-crowned Warbler.

I spent 20 minutes at Buddy Holly Park, picking up 18 species including 1
immature Yellow-bellied Sapsucker and 1 Orange-crowned Warbler.

This is, hands down, the biggest wave of sapsuckers I have ever seen in the
Lubbock region.
