Greetings All: Yesterday, 15 September 2012, Rick Kostecke and I spent roughly 5.5 hours in Floyd County visiting the White River crossing of Highway 207, Eagle's Hall Park in Floydada, and the willow-lined playa near the intersection of CR 3111 and CR 318. Highlights from the White River crossing included 1 Least Flycatcher (AH only), 1 Orange-crowned Warbler, 1 female Blue Grosbeak, and 1 female Orchard Oriole. Highlights from Eagle's Hall Park: 1 Cooper's Hawk, 2 Chimney Swifts, 1 EASTERN WOOD PEWEE (seen and heard), 1 Western Wood Pewee, 1 Willow Flycatcher, 1 RED-EYED VIREO, 2 Blue-gray Gnatcatchers, 2 Ruby-crowned Kinglets, 2 MacGillivray's Warblers, 1 Yellow-rumped Warbler, 5 Wilson's Warblers, 1 subadult White-crowned Sparrow, 1 male Indigo Bunting, and 3 Lesser Goldfinches. Highlights from the 3111x318 playa: 1 Willow Flycatcher, 1 Eastern Kingbird, 2 House Wrens, 1 Ruby-crowned Kinglet, 1 Yellow Warbler, 14 Wilson's Warblers, 11 Clay-colored Sparrows, 1 Brewer's Sparrow (RK only), 1 Field Sparrow (AH only), 1 subadult White-crowned Sparrow, and1 subadult male Western Tanager. Random highlights: 10 White-faced Ibises near Dougherty, 2 Sandhill Cranes near the White River crossing, 1 Greater Yellowlegs near Dougherty, 1 Eastern Phoebe in Floydada, and 8 Yellow-headed Blackbirds near Floydada.
