I ran the Circle Breeding Bird Survey (Lamb County) this morning. I will
post a full report later - wanted to get the highlights out today.
2 Blue-winged Teals near Circle, 1 Ring-necked Pheasant near Circle, 2
Ring-necked Pheasants near Springlake, 1 Ring-necked Pheasant northeast of
Earth, 1 Ring-necked Pheasant north of Earth, 1 Ring-necked Pheasant
northwest of Earth, 1 Olive-sided Flycatcher northwest of Earth, 1 Willow
Flycatcher south of Earth, 1 Willow Flycatcher northwest of Earth, 2 adult
Say's Phoebes feeding four fledglings north of Earth, 1 Vesper Sparro
northwest of Earth, 1 female Yellow-headed Blackbird north of Earth, and 1
male Bronzed Cowbird in Earth.
Highlights on the way back home through Lamb County: 4 White-faced Ibises
and 4 Black-necked Stilts just west of Earth, 4 Blue-winged Teals, 4
White-faced Ibises, and 2 Black-necked Stilts just west of Springlake, 2
Blue-winged Teals, 4 White-faced Ibises, and 2 American Avocets just south
of Springlake.
Highlights from a Bioblitz at Lubbock Lake Landmark in Lubbock County: 2
Blue-winged Teals, 2 adult and 1 fledgling Yellow-crowned Night Herons, 1
Yellow-billed Cuckoo, 1 Olive-sided Flycatcher, 2 Western Wood Pewees, 1
Warbling Vireo, 1 Swainson's Thrush, 1 male Common Yellowthroat, 4 Chipping
Sparrows, and 1 male Orchard Oriole.
