There's some productive, though probably short lived, birding on the stubble fields & flooded pasture on the north side of that section of El Gato Road between Alamo Road (Alamo) & South Stewart Road (San Juan) at the moment. Birds there this morning included: 9 Blue-winged Teal c210 Cattle Egrets 3 White Ibis 48 White-faced Ibis 23 Swainson's Hawks (they had obviously roosted overnight in the fields) 6 Killdeer 20 Black-necked Stilts 1 Greater Yellowlegs c170 Lesser Yellowlegs 1 Solitary Sandpiper 4 Least Sandpipers c85 Stilt Sandpipers 13 Long-billed Dowitchers & 800+ Rock Pigeons.
