I visited the San Jacinto Monument this morning to look for more birds for my "local patch." While looking through the Pine Warblers and Goldfinchs for anything unusual I realized that a Harris' Hawk was sitting in the same tree. The tree is less than halfway from the monument to the "causeway" along on one of the small loop drives. It's right behind a stone marker that says "No. 16 Santa Ana's Camp". The hawk flew a short distance from tree to tree a couple of times, but I didn't see it leave the area.
