I don't know how rare it is but the Greens sometimes use their insects as bait on the water to draw in fish. I have only seen the behavior once or twice. It would certainly be worth watching for. He positioned himself where there are a lot of dragonflies and catches them when they fly by. The heron also will sort of jump up to catch them.
