About 11:30 this morning I found the Greater Pewee at Bear Creek Park in a pine tree at the intersection of Kunze and Golbow, near restroom #9. I phoned Adam Wood who was elsewhere in the park looking for it. It was high in the tree, preening, but from undernearth you could plainly see the large bright orange lower mandible. Through the scope I could see its peaked head. When I moved to let Adam take a look through the scope we both took our eyes off the bird and it flew and we didnt see where. About 10 minutes later I saw it fly from the same tree about 100 yds down Kunze Rd. It flew a couple more times and we eventually lost it in the trees behind restroom #9 where Mark Scheueran had it earlier in the morning. This was my third try for the bird. As Mark said, have patience; it's still there, but it moves around a lot. Paula Kennedy Deer Park, TX
