I spent a few hours around Granger Lake this morning and found my first Mountain Plovers of the season. At least 23 birds were in the field southwest of the CR 352/Alligator Road intersection. They were seen from Alligator Road looking south (need a scope). At least 50 Killdeer were in the same area. Distant rafts of ducks and gulls were seen from the dam at dawn, including at least 200 Franklin's Gulls and 1 Herring Gull.
