I spent a few hours around Granger Lake this morning and found my first
Mountain Plovers of the season. At least 23 birds were in the field southwest
of the CR 352/Alligator Road intersection. They were seen from Alligator Road
looking south (need a scope). At least 50 Killdeer were in the same area.
Distant rafts of ducks and gulls were seen from the dam at dawn, including at
least 200 Franklin's Gulls and 1 Herring Gull. Other highlights included:

Cooper's Hawk  4
White-tailed Kite (Pasture Road in Bell Co. where originally found by Lee Hoy
on 10/24)
Sandhill Crane 10(same field as plovers)
American Avocet  8
Greater Yellowlegs  5
Burrowing Owl  1 (on CR 356 concrete pile as reported by Chuck Sexton last week)
Horned Lark  2
Marsh Wren  1
Sprague's Pipit  1
