TexBirders,

Jim Hailey and I took a long hike in the upper reaches of Granger Lake along the Comanche Bluff Trail this morning. The common stuff was, well, common and no migrant passerines (excluding swallows) were noted. Primary sightings of interest included a group of 3 Anhingas on the San Gabriel River and a calling/drumming Pileated Woodpecker. Nice hike with few insects; lake level is high, no mudflats.

I scanned the lake from Overlook Park after our hike, but there was nothing in view except scattered egrets (Great, Snowy, Cattle) and thousands of "Clave" Swallows (mostly Cliff).
