Hey there,
I went birding with Bill and Judy Quick and my parents Jim and Marie Walker
this morning - we had a great outing around Granger Lake. We started at Willis
Creek Park with flyover Snow Geese and Sandhill Cranes, good looks at Fox,
Harriss, and Grasshopper Sparrows, and a brief encounter with a mostly
heard-only Sedge Wren along the entrance road. At the CR 348 creek crossing had
great looks at a Winter Wren and a late Gray Catbird. Saw a Great Horned Owl
perched on a fence post along 971. Along CR 428 (Striped Sparrow spot) had good
looks at a Pine Warbler, and just north of here on CR 361 had a female
Ladder-backed Woodpecker. Heard and then saw a flock of McCowns Longspurs at
the bend at CR 360, and then ended the morning with great looks at a Burrowing
Owl.
Good birding,
Christian Walker
