Mary Manor is not open to the public. Unfortunately this is true of most of Katy Prairie Conservancy lands for the time being. KPC needs to make productive use of the land while it continues to earn income to pay off debt and to purchase additional lands towards its long established goal of 30 to 50,000 acres under protection. Therefore ranching, farming, hunting and oil and gas activities continue in one form or another on all KPC properties. For this reason, generally, the lands are not publicly accessible due to commitments KPC has with those paying KPC for use of the land. This is not the long term goal, however for the current time and for these reasons, visitors need to be accompanied by KPC volunteers or staff and are asked to sign a liability waiver prior to entry. Please see the KPC web site for open visitation dates and activities when access is possible to various properties. There may be increasing opportunities later in 2014. Please stay tuned to KPC's website at http://www.katyprairie.org/ as KPC attempts to improve measuring and monitoring its biodiversity.
