Oh my, it was a fabulous day to be birding the Refuge. We had eyes on the
Tropical Parula before the walk even got officially started but it was
cooperative and everyone got looks as they showed up. And it was our first
time this season for the trifecta of kingfishers, Green, Belted and
Ringed!! The Ringed Kingfisher, the Tropical Parula and the Verdin were
lifers for folks on the walk. What a blast to share that! Another group
taking a van tour through the refuge also sighted an Ash-throated
Flycatcher out at Pintail Lakes. Good to know it is still around.
Guided walks leave from the Visitor Center every morning at 8:30 am. We
hope you'll join us!
