Hi, all!
I received the following e-mail and was wondering if anyone from FWS can
enlighten the group; personally I never go any further than the culvert
behind the pumphouse, but I do mention the whole three-mile loop trail on my
website, and if this is truly off limits, I need to change that!

Subj: Monte Cristo Tract
I've been off Texbirds for awhile but about a year ago was involved in a
discussion there about whether Monte Cristo Tract is open or closed. I had
been refused entry. and Fish and wildlife supervisor emailed that the
officer was wrong and it was open for birding. Well today I was refused entry
again but I insisted it was open so he called the supervisor who said it was
closed including for bird watching. Have you heard otherwise?
