Texbirds:
This Friday (3/17) we'll conduct Feathered Fridays at TNCs Mad Island Preserve
in Matagorda County. On this St Patrick's Day, we'll be looking for birds
sporting their green:-), or any other spring arrivals.
Last Saturday during a private tour we had an Aplomado Falcon and a couple of
American Bitterns. Also, the Smithsonian bird banding team arrived at the
Preserve this past weekend and are set-up along the ICWW until mid May to share
their bird banding work.
Meet at the gate at 8am on Friday and bring water and a sack lunch. We'll
finish the tour at about 11:30 on the deck of the lodge for a picnic lunch.
Hope to see you there. Please be on time since we lock the gate behind us once
the tour starts and cell service can be spotty.
Regards and good birding,
Bob Friedrichs
