Nice morning at Hill Park with John and Shirley. Lots of activity with White-wings serenading us for the entire morning, but few migrants. left over rain water remains in Hill Park held a pair of Mallard and 1 Blue-winged Teal. Dogs chased them away, they circled the neighborhood for a bit before returning. Must like that area better than A-street Pond. Chimney Swift twittered over head. 1 Yellow Warbler performed a nice solo. A pair of mating Mississippi Kite was followed by the male gathering a willow branch to carry to the nesting site. After landing near the tree top, he deftly nipped the nuptial offering before being harassed by Western Kingbird. Lots of construction and landscaping activity probably disrupted the sighting opportunities.
