Yesterday we spent two hours at Freidrich WP and were so so lucky to have
arrived post rain. A few trails were closed off due to the rain, but, what
a wonderful few hours. The birds were happy and singing and moving about.
We turned right onto the Main Trail and about 0.1 mile past the Juniper
Ridge trail head we hear and saw a beautiful male Golden-cheeked Warbler,
lucky us. We also were lucky enough to take some great photos. A minute
further up the trail we had a singing Rufous-crowned Sparrow. We posted in
ebird what we saw, with these two birds being the highlights. Not bad I say.
We had to stop in Atascosa County at Keith's shop and had a beautiful male
Painted Bunting singing on his patch.
