Good afternoon birders,
It was a quiet, peaceful, but very delightful morning of birding.
Everyone got to see many beautiful Harris's Hawks, a Merlin flew over Pintail
Lakes slowly enough that all could watch, two Crested Caracara demonstrated
their moves, and a White-tailed Kite swooped over the trees as we were headed
back to the visitor's center. A good variety of waterfowl floated on placid
water, until a Grebe or Ruddy Duck dove and rippled the surface. Just a lovely
day in the refuge. Bird walks daily at 8:30 am - meet at the Visitor's Center.
