What a wonderful morning of birding! The winds were calm, the sky blue, and
passerine flocks greeted us in many places. The group was diverse and helpful
to some of the not-so-experienced birders. A Redhead was a new sighting,
probably because the water is deeper out at Pintail Lakes. There was a good
Merlin fly-by, and we caught the back end looks at a Great Horned Owl as it
left the area. A Wilson's Snipe flew up for good looks, and the Common
Pauraque winked at us as we went by. All in all, a delightful morning.
