John Kiseda and I started birding at his house at 7:30 watching his hummingbirds. We had BROAD-BILLED, male and female, Anna's female, and Broad-tailed male. Next we chased and photographed a Lewis's Woodpecker found by Barry Zimmer. We heard a gnatcatcher and saw Bewick's Wren at Arroyo Park. Scrub-Jays were everywhere. Then we went to the Coronado Country Club area and found some Red Crossbills. There were about 25 in the area. While we were looking at the Crossbills, visiting birder Paul Fushille told us about a Brown Thrasher behind his parents house so we successfully re-located this furtive bird. Other birds of note were White-breasted Nuthatch and Acorn Woodpecker. Great morning!
