Howdy, I led a very small and very COLD bird walk on Hill Country Conservancy's Nalle Bunny Run Wildlife Preserve in west Austin this morning. The birding was very slow except for a single male Eastern Towhee. Here's a summary of the walk, including photos of the towhee: http://www.inaturalist.org/projects/nalle-bunny-run-biodiversity/journal/2146 Chuck Sexton recently reported not finding many western bird species in central Texas this winter. Maybe we should be looking for eastern species? :) And here's more info about the Bunny Run. Unfortunately, no public access is available outside of guided tours organized with Hill Country Conservancy: http://www.hillcountryconservancy.org/get-involved/monthly_birding_and_nature_hikes/ Mikael Behrens Austin Travis County http://birdingonbroadmeade.blogspot.com/ Edit your Freelists account settings for TEXBIRDS at //www.freelists.org/list/texbirds Reposting of traffic from TEXBIRDS is prohibited without seeking permission from the List Owner
