After volunteering planting prairie grasses at Horseshoe marsh, my wife and I took a ride over to the Dos Vacas Muertas Sanctuary on the west end of Galveston Island. First visit there for us. In about 45 minutes we saw: Vermillion Flycatcher Red-eyed vireo Common Nighthawk - 3 flying over and 1 roosting Mockingbirds - many Green Heron Cedar Waxwings White-tailed kite Yellow crowned Night-heron Eastern Kingbird Eastern Phoebe Cardinals - many White Ibis -flyby Magnificent Frigate bird -Flyover Scissortail Flycatcher Ruby throated hummingbird Plus a few little brown birds that we not able to positively ID.
