Oh, Texbirds. I don't even know where to start. I love y'all. Since 1998, Texbirds has been my primary learning curve (outside of Nat Geo, Peterson's, the joy of the first Sibley) and it has been wonderful: I have made horrible IDs and had my @$$ handed to me by folks far more knowledgable than I (and I learned), and i have enjoyed reading the steady flow of posts from Ave A and Joseph Kennedy and established brains who have cycled through various levels of posting involvement... Curmudgeons and whippersnappers alike, Texbirds has been an extended family of sorts. Thank you. For the friendships and gentle rivalries, for the mentors and the CBCs, for news and vicarious living... Thank you. As a native Texan with fierce loyalty to my birding turf and community, it has been an agonizing decision, but I have moved to Michigan. It's cold, but the people are friendly. It's just not home. I do hope to keep in touch with folks - always open for questions about my former turf, but it looks like this move is indefinite.
