I've been monitoring a area in Bastrop Co.where numerous pairs of
Dickcissels bred this spring. Dickcissels waste no time when it comes to
nesting and hit the ground ready to start that nest.
In what seems to be an almost overnight departure, these birds, now
finished, are presumablly moving north to greener pastures, if that is even
possible. There are still some around, but not at this location. That did
not take long.
