Dear Katy Prairie Birders,
Our Christmas Bird Count is January 1st, and we invite you all to join us. We
have access to many private acres on this count that you normally would not
have access to, so it is a unique birding opportunity. However, I know many of
you are not up for a full day afield but also cannot resist starting your year
list off with a birding outing. The link below is the count circle. If you
should bird within the circle anytime during count week (December29-January 4)
we would appreciate you reporting your list to us. We would not include the
numbers except when it is a unusual species or something missed by the regular
count. Each year there are a number of such species we find on eBird. We know
many birders still do not use eBird, and we would love to have your
information. If you would like more information about our count please email us
and we will send you the announcement that was posted earlier on texbirds.
