[texbirds] Corrections re. mistyped highway numbers in shorebird report of earlier today.

I offer apologies for some potentially very confusing typing mistakes in my
posted message of earlier today. A least twice I typed "TX-48" when I
should have said TX-4. Those knowledgeable about deep South Texas coastal
birding sites might have understood what I was trying to say, but others
might have despaired of any such effort. To help rectify the confusion, let
me say that our best shorebirding yesterday was in viewing the flooded
basin south of TX-4. (TX-4 is the highway from Brownsville to Boca Chica,
also known as Boca Chica Boulevard.) There is a stretch of perhaps 4.5
miles--east end probably less than a mile from Boca Chica Beach itself--in
which that flooded basin can be viewed by pulling off the road (and, in our
case, by walking a few hundred feet southward from the road and scoping the
birds from there). The majority of the many hundreds of shorebirds seen
there yesterday afternoon were in the westernmost 2/3 of that ca. 4.5 mile
stretch.
I regret the confusion that likely was engendered by my mistyping in the
earlier message today and hope that I might exculpate myself a bit by
explaining that we had birded for much of the yesterday in substantial
heat, drove over 230 miles, and did not get back home (after dinner in
Harlingen) until about 10:00 PM. Alas, we awakened at our usually time
today, so I should have had a nap before trying to post about birding trip
to multiple sites!
