And my male cooper's hawk has been up doing territorial soaring for about
10 days. Sadly that keeps him away from the newly returned horde of
white-winged doves on the feeder but at some point he will get after them
again. There has been a sharp-shin around for a couple of months once a
week or so for the first time in years. And the barred owls are really into
hooting up a storm day and night.

Should be an interesting spring/summer for the  neighborhood
White-wings.
Just saw a Cooper's going into a clump of Live oaks just down the street
with nest material.  Seems a bit early but I guess not.
