I have occasionally seen ravens in NW Austin. I even had one fly over the Hwys 183/360 intersection earlier in the year. I have had them fairly regularly this year along the east side of Lake Travis (Cypress Creek Park, Volente). And, taking a little broader view, I have also seen them fairly regularly over the years along Hwy183 between Leander and Lampasas (Williamson and Burnet cos.). However, the information from enough sources about their presence there is sufficient that I am convinced a pair is resident nearby. As I noted earlier, today I observed what may be a pair near the intersection of Bluffstone Drive/Spicewood Springs Road and Loop 360. Someone else very recently is reporting a raven in SW Austin. There are usually ravens on the CBC in Austin, and I had one in my area on the east side 2 years ago. I'm wondering if perhaps we're getting a small population of them established in the area.
