Hi, all!
Took Ken to Santa Ana this morning in hopes of bagging the Virginia Rails;
we heard three, but they never showed... :-( The wind was kicking up pretty
good, but we DID see several life birds for him, including a lovely
White-tailed Kite, four White Ibis sailing in, and a nice group of Stilt
Sandpipers. A visit to Bentsen to feeder-hop produced a fabulous look at a
Clay-colored Thrush, and some coveted Cave Swallows flew overhead! By then
it was too hot to walk anymore, so we zipped up Wallace Road in hopes of
some sparrows and got a Yellow Warbler to come in! (There IS water in those
