Dear All, posting on behalf of Ron Weeks: Ron is at the Red-necked Phalarope spot (on road 227 just south of CR 2004) at Brazoria NWR There are 3 Godwits: two winter-plumaged Hudsonians and a good candidate Black-tailed. This bird is not in full breeding plumage, but is a different color on the neck/chest (a blonde orangy buff), and Ron described it as larger, taller, with a straight bicolored bill, and he just called to say he briefly saw the underwings when the bird hopped - the underwings looked pure white... He has poor photo equipment ad the bird is rather distant WE NEED FOLKS WITH HEAVY-DUTY LENSES to get over there as soon as possible! Martin --- Martin Reid San Antonio www.martinreid.com
