Did a little post-final exams birding today at Hornsby Bend. Not great shorebird numbers but a Buff-breasted Sandpiper definitely made the trip worthwhile. The bird was in grass by the SE corner of pond 1W. http://www.flickr.com/photos/57637231@N04/8759839796/in/photostream/ Nothing else really of note; White-rumped Sandpipers have become the most numerous peep, followed by Least and Pectorals. A few Bairds mixed in too. Not many ducks still arounds, just some Blue-winged Teal, Ruddys and Shovelers here and there.
