Crystal Beach celebrates Mardi Gras on Saturday with a parade down main
street which is the highway. What with before and after stuff, the highway
has been closed for a couple of hours in past years. If you are in the area
and can get to the beach before being stuck in traffic, the beach is quite
driveable and would let you go up to stingaree road and miss the
festivities and delay.
