I photographed the male Blue Bunting at Frontera Audubon (photos on my
Birds and Nature blog <http://birdsandnature.blogspot.com/>) this morning
as it came to a 'drip' and had several drinks from a saucer. It was also
seen at mid day today and had been seen daily for the past several days
(first seen in late January).
The Crimson-collared Grosbeak at Frontera was heard this morning by Sandy
Komito. It was spotted on Monday and Tuesday. Neither seen nor heard by me.
A 2nd year Painted Bunting was seen there yesterday and a Groove-billed Ani
was seen today.
Due to the continuing rarities the staff at Frontera continues to keep the
thicket and visitor center open from 8am to 5 pm daily.
Canon City, Colorado (currently in Pharr)
