Early this morning around 7:20 I noticed a different looking bird out in
our flowerbed and very quickly realized it was a Grosbeak and my first
impression was Black-headed. I do know however there is a stage in Red-breasted
that looks very similar so I took a few not great pictures and had to leave
for a volunteer gig Jan and I had to go do. When I got home I downloaded
the pictures and cleaned them up some and showed them to Ron Weeks and
Richard Gibbons and they agreed probably first year male Black-headed
Grosbeak.
We have been home for a while now and I have not seen it again although I w
ill be keeping a look out.
On the Old River CBC on the 28th of Dec we had a Rose-breasted Grosbeak
that I got confirmation shots of on 12/29.
