Howdy Texbirders, Lot of good birds are showing up at Estero lately. Sunday, I either relocated our female Rose-throated Becard or perhaps have found another one. The becard appeared to be a female or juv. male, but since I could not see the throat, was not able to confirm gender. It's plumage is much improved if it is our bird that was located last Nov. 9th. during the 2011 RGVBF. Other notables are King and Virginia Rails, many Sora, Gray Hawk, Great Horned, and Barn Owl. With the RGV Birding Festival starting next week, I would expect some other rarities are going to be found. Hope you are already signed up for some of our field trips and get a chance to see these and other valley speciality birds. Until then, remember--- Bird for your health, Forget your worries, You'll be happier.
