Hi, all!
This month's Birder Patrol trip (Saturday, April 22nd) will include a stop
at the new observation area along SR 100 to look for Aplomado Falcons and
Chihuahuan Ravens (among other raptors), the Laguna Vista Nature Center for
migrants, and the Port Isabel Reservoir for shorebirds. After birding these
three areas (which will probably take us up to noonish), people will be free
to take off to the Island or Laguna Atascosa NWR on their own, but the
"official" BP trip will end at this point. Cost is $5.00 per person, with
all proceeds going to support the educational endeavors of the Arroyo
Colorado Audubon Society. Meet at the Jack in the Box at Ed Carey Drive and
US77 in Harlingen at 7:30 (earlier if you want to eat something)!
Happy Migration!
