BirdLog one of the major smart phone applications for entering birds
in the field to eBird is on sale for $0.99

BirdLog does support both Android and iPhone.
Using an app like BirdLog does make using eBird at lot more
convenient, You're data entry is essentially done in the field.
Paring the application with others like MapMyHike for measuring the
distance traveled can also raise the quality of the data entered into
eBird.
BirdLog also uses the filters on eBird, so when you are entering
something notable, it prompts you for more information, which can
prevent you from entering Amazon Kingfisher by accident ;). When you
do enter those notes it greatly helps the eBird reviewers approve your
notable records in a timely manner
