The majority of Big Bend's roads are hazardous at the moment; the road
into the Chisos Basin is closed, as is much of Old Maverick Road -
they should be open again sometime tomorrow morning (Saturday) - for
updates, check http://www.nps.gov/bibe/planyourvisit/parkalerts.htm
-- click "show alerts" on the tab at the top if there's a notice...

Otherwise, there's plenty of snow out here and a few birders who have
been snowed out of the Basin - will pass on their reports if/when we
hear back; they're checking the Prairie Dog Town and Post Park at
least... and I'm stuck in front of a computer! Must be gorgeous out
there!

Davis Mts have been reporting good snow accumulation; the Chihuahuan
Desert Research Institute reported 8 inches this morning, Alpine has
posted 6 and we managed ~3 inches here in town!

Stay safe,
-h
