Hello there,
Paul Difiore and I birded SW Tarrant County yesterday morning til about 1130.
Started at Winscott-Plover Rd before dawn - no owls but did get to watch the
front come through during the sunrise. Highlight here was an immature Northern
Harrier blown in with the front and tons of Dickcissels. Moved up to the
Westcreek Circle area and had HO Eastern Screech-Owl and Inca Dove, flushed a
Barred Owl, as well as Bells and Warbling Vireos, and 4 Summer Tanagers.
Benbrook Lake from Holiday Day Use Area was pretty dead, and so was Pecan
Valley when we got there around 1030 or 11. Highlight here was an immature
Coopers Hawk soaring overhead. Also may have heard a waterthrush calling along
the creek but never found it.
Good birding,
Christian Walker
