-Rarities Found This Week-

A Cape May Warbler was in Bastrop County on Arbuckle Road just south of
Elgin- off 1704 on 9/21. Fantastic find.

2 Brown Pelicans were reported from Oak Thicket Park on Lake Fayette on
9/20.

A White-tailed Kite was seen southeast of Taylor in Williamson County. The
bird was on the east side of CR473 adjacent Reservoir 17.

A Short-billed Dowitcher was confirmed to be in Williamson County, at
Granger Lake's Sore Finger WMA on 9/21. It is my personal experience that
this is a very difficult bird to see locally.

The same Sore Finger visit on 9/21 yielded FOUR American Golden Plovers-
nice fall migration birds. At least one of the birds remained as of 9/27.

A Blue-winged Warbler was at the West Bouldin Greenbelt in south Austin on
9/21.

An early flight of Greater White-fronted Geese was detected on 9/20 in
Bastrop County.

Zone-tailed Hawk reports were excellent for the week. 1 was photographed
at Roy Guerrero Park (Travis) on 9/21, 1 described from Reimer's Ranch in
western Travis County on 9/21, and 1 was viewed from Lake Creek Trail in
Williamson County on 9/27.

A Chestnut-sided Warbler had a few observers at Warbler Woods in Guadalupe
County on 9/25.

Red-headed Woodpeckers: 2 reported from a Bell County home on 9/19 and 2
were photographed at Bastrop State Park on 9/27.
