This is the Austin Area Rare Bird Alert. This update is as of 11/20/2015.
Send interesting sightings, complete with species name, location, and

-Exceptional birds in the RBA circle-

A juvenile BROWN BOOBY continued at Windy Point on Lake Travis*, Travis.* The
bird has been perched on a buoy between Bob Wentz County Park and Mansfield
Dam; it was most recently reported 11/19.

-Rarities found this week-

Two HORNED GREBES were photographed at Lake Pflugerille, *Travis*, on
11/13. At least one bird continued through 11/17.

A LONG-BILLED CURLEW was well described from Hornsby Bend, *Travis*, 11/18.

A HUTTON'S VIREO was well described at Great Hills Park in Austin, *Travis*,
11/18.

A COMMON LOON was seen at Friendship Park on Granger Lake, *Williamson, *
11/15.

A ZONE-TAILED HAWK was photographed at Webberville Park, *Travis*, 11/14.

A SAY'S PHOEBE was photographed in NE *Travis*, 11/14.

AN EASTERN TOWHEE continued at a private office near Bee Caves, *Travis*,
11/13.

Four RUSTY BLACKBIRDS were reported from Hornsby Bend*, Travis*, 11/13.

There are many PYRRHULOXIAS in the circle. Individual birds were seen at
Hornsby Bend, *Travis*, 11/14 and two birds were seen at Reimer's Ranch,
*Travis*, 11/14.

-Continuing birds from previous weeks-

An ALLEN'S HUMMINGBIRD continued at a private residence in western *Travis
County*, most recently 11/15.

A CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD continued at a private residence in New Braunfels,
*Comal*, 11/14.

A COUCH'S KINGBIRDS continued at Benbrook Ranch Park, *Williamson*, 11/13.

A RINGED KINGFISHER continued at Inks Lake National Fish Hatchery, *Burnet*,
11/13.

A GREAT KISKADEE continued at Berry Springs Park in Georgetown, *Williamson*,
11/19.

Reports for the Austin area RBA cover a 60 mile radius, centered on the
Capitol in downtown Austin. Bird sightings mentioned here have been
filtered and scrutinized by the compiler and are believed to be genuine.
