This is the Austin Area Rare Bird Alert. This update is as of 10/16/2015.
Send interesting sightings, complete with species name, location, and

-Rarities found this week-

A juvenile BROWN BOOBY was found and photographed at Windy Point on Lake
Travis*, Travis*, 10/9. The bird has been perched on a buoy between Bob
Wentz County Park and Mansfield Dam; it was most recently reported 10/15.

A TOWNSEND'S WARBLER was was great find on the edge of the RBA circle at
Guadalupe River State Park, *Comal*, 10/12. The bird was photographed.

A GREEN-TAILED TOWHEE was well described from Great Hills Park in Austin,
*Travis*, on the morning of 10/12.

A NORTHERN PARULA was a very good find this late; the bird was photographed
at a private residence near Georgetown, *Williamson*, 10/5.

HUTTON'S VIREOS were well described at Pedernales Falls State Park, *Blanco*,
10/9 (photographed) and from Great Hills Park in Austin, *Travis*, 10/15.

A WESTERN KINGBIRD was a good find this late; the bird was photographed at
Roy Guerrero Park in Austin, *Travis*, 10/13.

A COUCH'S KINGBIRD was seen at Devine Lake Park*, Williamson*, 10/10 and
10/15.

An OVENBIRD was well described from West Bouldin Creek Greenbelt in Austin,
*Travis*, 10/13. Ovenbird is a difficult fall migrant in the circle.

A MOURNING WARBLER was well described from Hamilton Pool, *Travis*, 10/10.

VERMILION FLYCATCHERS were reported from Devine Lake Park, *Williamson*,
10/13 and from Warbler Woods, *Guadalupe*, 10/12 (photographed).

SAY'S PHOEBES were reported from Sayersville Rd. in Bastrop, *Bastrop*,
10/14 (photographed) and from Lago Vista High School, *Travis*, 10/15.

SUMMER TANAGERS were late at Laguna Gloria in Austin, *Travis*, 10/14 and
Devine Lake Park, *Williamson*, 10/13.

An UPLAND SANDPIPER was photographed at Windy Point on LakeTravis*, Travis*,
10/13.

-Continuing birds from previous weeks-

A CASSIN'S KINGBIRD continued at Devine Lake Park, *Williamson*, 10/10. The
bird has been photographed and has not been reported since the 10th.

Reports for the Austin area RBA cover a 60 mile radius, centered on the
Capitol in downtown Austin. Bird sightings mentioned here have been
filtered and scrutinized by the compiler and are believed to be genuine.
When documentation or photographs were provided, that is mentioned along
with the other information about the bird(s) being seen. For questions or
