This is the Austin Area Rare Bird Alert. This update is as of 5/7/2015.

-Rarities found this week-

A LAUGHING GULL was photographed at Windy Point on Lake Travis*, Travis*,
5/4.

A GRAY-CHEEKED THRUSH was very well described at Nicholas Dawson Park,
*Travis*, 4/30.

A LEAST TERN was photographed at Windy Point on Lake Travis*, Travis*, 5/3.

GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLERS showed very well in the circle this weekend,
with *Travis
County *birds at Wild Basin, 5/7, the Cherrywood Neighborhood in central
Austin, 5/6, the Austin Capitol Grounds, 5/6, Circle Acres, 5/6, a private
residence near MoPac and Anderson Ln, 5/6, and the West Bouldin Creek
Greenbelt, 5/5.

A BLUE-WINGED WARBLER was reported from the Cherrywood Neighborhood in
central Austin, *Travis*, 5/6.

A nesting pair of GREAT KISKADEES were photographed at a private residence
near San Marcos, *Hays*, 5/1.

A SANDERLING was photographed at Windy Point on Lake Travis, *Travis*, 5/4.

A KENTUCKY WARBLER was reported from Berry Creek in Sun City, *Williamson*,
5/5.

YELLOW-THROATED WARBLERS were reported from McKinney Falls State Park,
*Travis*, 5/4 and Laguna Gloria in Austin, *Travis*, 4/30 (photographed).

A COUCH'S KINGBIRD was reported from Lake Creek Trail, *Williamson*, 5/3.

A RING-NECKED DUCK was late at a private stock pond near Lake Travis,
*Travis*, 5/5.

-Continuing birds from previous weeks-

A GREAT KISKADEE continued at Berry Springs Park in Georgetown, *Williamson*,
5/5.

A RED-HEADED WOODPECKER continued near Bastrop State Park, *Bastrop*, 5/6.

At least one, and maybe two YELLOW-THROATED WARBLERS continued at Commons
Ford, *Travis*, 5/3.

Reports for the Austin area RBA cover a 60 mile radius, centered on the
Capitol in downtown Austin. Bird sightings mentioned here have been
filtered and scrutinized by the compiler and are believed to be genuine.
