Hi, all!

Birded along Old Military Highway this morning before scouring Anzalduas and
then returning to the Butterfly Center, where the Butterfly Festival was in
full swing! Ran into Mark from Brownsville at Anzalduas who had seen the
Greater Pewee earlier, and thankfully his "pit pit pit" call got my
attention (the pewee's, not Mark's.)! I also had a suspicious sapsucker
that I was unable to photograph (but got a nice recording of - not that that
helps as they all sound the same. :-P): it was coming into adult plumage
(but not quite there), showing some red on the cap and throat, but no hint
of a black border around the throat; every photo I could find of a juvie
YBSA had at least SOME kind of border, but I'm assured that RNSAs would be
in adult plumage by now (or nearly so), but that doesn't rule out a hybrid.
A young Gray Hawk was causing havoc, and House Finches were around per
usual.

Nice bugs at NABA - was hoping for an Evan's Skipper, but Two-barred
Flasher, Malachite, Glazed Pellicia, and Violet-banded Skipper are nothing
to sneeze at, either! J

I posted some pics on my Facebook page; non-members should be able to view
it okay:
