Hi Texbirders,
To follow up on yesterdays post, Joe Kennedy emailed me how to ID the
Scaup in flight which is what they mostly did.

"Watch for the white wing stripe. Only the inner half on lesser and
most of the way out on greater. Not just a lighter color but the true
white stripe."

So I will be sure to check that out next visit. It might be helpful
for others, that is why my repost.

The only notable passerines were 3 adult White-crowned Sparrows near
the visitor center... http://www.pbase.com/image/158538791

And 1 Yellow-headed Blackbird in the huge flock of red-winged at
Shoveler Pond. I wasn't able to get a photo before it dropped down
into the reeds.
