Amazon Kingfisher present 4 pm or so till dusky though often on the move. Infrequently close up. Flew from west resaca arm where it was present most of the time, across the road, down the small wet area there, across the road again to the east resaca arm where it was lost when the sun set and light was lost. The bird had not been seen regularly during the day however and yesterday was out of view most of the day. It can easily go around the bend. The land around this resaca is private so I would advise respecting this. Also the edge of the resaca is really getting trampled. There is no benefit in getting to the waters edge and there may be the disadvantage of spooking the bird or keeping it from flying in. I advise staying up on the grass edge and using the willows as a blind rather than pushing through the willows to get the shot. Looks good for those trying this weekend. -- Terry W Fuller San Benito/Harlingen Terrywfuller@xxxxxxxxx Edit your Freelists account settings for TEXBIRDS at //www.freelists.org/list/texbirds Reposting of traffic from TEXBIRDS is prohibited without seeking permission from the List Owner
