Black-capped Vireo. March 12, 2013
Saw a small vireo flew out low with an extremely black cap and white spectacles
and yellow on the flanks when he flew. Stayed low in the bushes before
disappearing. Seen very well for about 10 seconds. Was not a Blue-headed Vireo
because the head was not blue gray but very deep black. Had white underparts
and dark wings when spotted. Did not get good looks at wing bars. Not a lifer
for me but FOS. Linda Valdez at Warbler Pond at Warbler Woods Bird Sanctuary.
